Tim Tebow SuperBowl Commercial

February 8, 2010

What was the big deal was about the Tim Tebow SuperBowl commercial and it’s lack there of overt pro-life message?  I would think people would be more concerned that Tim tackled his mom or more upset with CBS aired so many misogynistic commercials

Jesus Christ the license plate

No More Jesus Rifles

January 22, 2010

Trijicon, maker of gun sights for the U.S. Military, has decided to remove Bible verses inscribed on their rifle scopes, a practice the company has been doing for the last decade. Although the president of Trijicon says this is a voluntary move the change happens after Gen. David Petraeus called the company’s practice “disturbing …and a serious concern for me and field commanders” It seems that Trijicon doesn’t want to jeopardize its $660-million multi-year contract with the U.S. Military.

One of the citations on the gun sights, 2COR4:6, is an apparent reference to Second Corinthians 4:6 of the New Testament, which reads: “For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”

Other references include citations from the books of Revelation, Matthew and John dealing with Jesus as “the light of the world.” John 8:12, referred to on the gun sights as JN8:12, reads, “Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

There is nothing like spreading the loving words of Jesus Christ through military weaponry. Crusades anyone?
