The Dove Awards is an annual award show that recognizes top Christian performers in various categories. Think of it as the Christian version of the Grammy’s where winners are awarded a gold-plated dove.
One aspect of the Dove Awards that doesn’t sit well for me is the award for Worship Song of the Year. I’m not entirely sure what the criteria is to take to bring home the top honors… but it’s funny that someone’s worship song is better than another artist’s worship song. How can you “rate” an artist’s offering of worship to God and say it’s better than another artist’s?
Oh well, I just hope that the winner of this category has a good ROI.
